What is your address?

What are your opening hours?
SFM Marine is open from 7am – 5pm, Monday – Friday.
Where do I park?
there is visitors parking available outside the main office, via the entrance off Sultan Way.
Can I bring my vehicle into the boat yard?
Yes, providing you have completed our contractor authorisation process and paid your access fee. (delivery vehicles excepted).

What is the largest boat you can lift?
We can lift vessels up to 200T and a 10m beam.
Do you have any pens/wet berth boat storage available?
We have a small quantity of boat pens/wet berths at SFM marine Northport. These are currently fully occupied.
Do I need to submit any paperwork before I bring my boat to SFM Marine?
Once you’ve received a booking estimate from our team, all we require is an email approval and copy of vessel insurance to confirm your booking.
My boat is not insured, can you still lift it?
No. SFM Marine will not lift uninsured boats. There must be at least a valid 3rd party policy in place with a copy provided to SFM prior to the boat’s arrival.

Why do I pay an environmental levy?
This levy is to help offset the cost of an important environmental obligation, filtering the contaminated water generated by the pressure cleaning.
I need work done on my boat – can you refer me to a suitable marine contractor?
Yes. We have an extensive network of Perth’s best marine trades and contractors. We would be happy to refer you. Contact us here or call 94307623.
BOAT YARD
Do I have to wear high vis when I’m onsite at SFM Marine?
Yes. High vis is mandatory for all contractors and visitors onsite. If required, high vis vests are available to purchase for a small fee from the main office.
Do I have to wear shoes in the boat yard?
Yes. Enclosed footwear is mandatory for all contractors and visitors anywhere onsite.

Do I have to be present for my boat lift / boat launch?
An owner or owner’s representative must be in attendance for lifting the vessel, to advise of any important lifting details. In the event, an owner is unable to provide a docking plan and/or be in attendance, SFM Marine will not be liable for any associated loss or damage to the vessel during such lifting and placement.
When launching a vessel, there are no facilities to tie up. This means all vessels must immediately depart after being launched.
Do I need to do a site induction to work onsite as SFM Marine?
Yes. All personnel coming to work onsite must attend a site induction. Find out more by contacting us here or call 94307623.
I’m a boat owner/manager, can I access the boat while it’s being worked on at SFM Marine?
Yes. Access to the yard is available 7am – 5pm, Monday – Friday. All visitors to site must sign in at the front office and don a high vis vest before walking out to the boat.
Is wet sanding permitted in your Boat Yard?
No. Wet sanding of antifoul is prohibited. Only dry sanding with suitable dust extraction is permitted.
My boat is arriving/departing by truck, is SFM Marine suitable for this?
Yes. Whether your boat is arriving or departing on a truck, SFM Marine is well suited to truck movements. Contact us here or call 94307623 to discuss your requirements.
My boat is arriving by ship/sea freight, can it be brought to SFM Marine?
Yes. SFM Marine is ideally located in the Rous Head industrial precinct, only a short distance from the wharf. This makes us the ideal place to bring your boat after it has arrived by ship/sea freight.
I’m a marine trade/contractor, how do I become authorised to work onsite at SFM Marine?
The easiest way to become an authorised contractor is to contact us here or call 9430 7623, and we will send you all the information required to sign up.
SERVICES & FACILITIES
Can you pressure clean the hull of my boat?
Yes. We have pressure cleaning services available, operated by SFM Marine staff. All vessels hard stood onsite must have a clean hull.
Can I hire scaffolding?
Yes. Scaffolding approximately 1.2m high is available for hire. Contact us here or call 94307623 to book.
Do you have a forklift available?
Yes. There is a forklift service available onsite, operated by SFM Marine staff. Call 94307623 or walk into the main office to book.
Do you have paint screens?
Yes. There are purpose built paint screens available to use free-of-charge. You must read the SOP, downloadable here, prior to use.
Do you have cranes onsite to hire?
We can refer you to a crane hire company, authorised to work onsite at SFM Marine. Contact us here or call 94307623.
Do you have covered workspace for my boat?
Yes. There are 5 main shed bays, blast shed and dome facility for larger vessels. Enquire here to find out more.
Will my boat fit in the shed at SFM Marine?
Please contact us here or call 94307623 to discuss the details of your boat.
Can I get my boat sand blasted at SFM Marine?
Yes. There is a dedicated blast shed for all sand blasting applications. Enquire here or call 94307623 to find out more.
Do you you have any boat pens/wet berths available?
All our wet berths are currently occupied.
Can I tie up my boat before/after lifting?
Unless it is an emergency, tying up before/after lifts is generally not permitted. All lifts must be coordinated at a time where the owner or authorised representative can move the boat directly in the lifter bay for lifting or depart immediately after the boat has launched.
Is there power available for my boat when it’s on the hard stand?
Yes shore power is available in both the 65T and 200T yards. Please note that shore power must only be connected by the vessel owner or owner’s representative.
